Little Busters!
How was nationals?
EPIC!!!! It was a long road to this point (literally a 13 hour drive from the
Midwest) and I enjoyed the experience. Being able to meet players from all over
the region was really awesome especially those you have made friendships and
bonds with through social media. Everything was run smoothly tournament wise
and the staff were very friendly and accommodating.
Did you attend alone or with a group?
I attended the event with the Illiana Weiss Schwarz gang!
For those who want to try playing your deck - any tips?
When building my deck there was a lot of variables coming into this nationals
that were factored in. My approach to how I built my Little Busters build was
lockdown. The 1/1 Brosuke Anti Salvage assist, anti heal Kanata, anti encore
Yuiko combo, and lastly damage prevention that counters restanders all gave my
deck the toolbox to have answers for many builds that were in the field. Little
Busters had some well-deserved updates from Card Mission and Refrain that give
LB strong finishers while not depending on healing.
Did you get anything cool at the event?
Every time I have visited the event venue I wish I left my credit cards in the
car. I picked up some sleeves, tried my luck at the Kantai Kuji prizes, and
busted open some boxes of refrain and pulled a Level 3 Sasami SP.
What matchup was the scariest?
I had a lot of intense matches but when top cut matches started that's when you
felt the heat. One of the big monsters that I went up against was Nisekoi in
top 4. With a very strong salvage engine and its shot/restanders that posed the
greatest threat.
A special mention of another match up before top 8 was my game against gigant
shooter. I hadn’t done much research on the set and I wasn't crazy about the
art so I never looked into its potential. It by far had some of the most unique
and deadly abilities in a set I've seen. A level 3 that shoots a level 3 or
lower character to clock if it's alone on the field and can restand and move to
another open spot and attack again! It was really awesome to see the deck in
action.
Any shoutouts?
Where to begin! I first and foremost what like to give a shout out to my group
the Illiana WeiB Schwarz gang! They are more than just a playgroup they have
become some of my closest friends. WeiB Schwarz is more than just a card game.
It’s a game where you can play some of your favorite characters in the shows
you watch and brings people together with the same passion and interests.
I want to give a special shout out to Nicholas T who was a great mentor when I
first started the game. Even when being oceans away you can find great people
who love WeiB Schwarz.
Ultimately i wouldn't be where I am if it wasn't for one of my best friends
Audri S who is one of the greatest tournament organizers and players I
have met. She really has made our group grow and still continue to thrive in
the Midwest.
A shout out to the Heart of the Cards who work very hard every year to give us
this amazing opportunity to compete in the Japanese circuit. A chance to go to
Japan has been a dream of mine and I think this is the best way to do it!
Last but not least ::Team Rainbrows Pride:: for life!

Kantai Collection
How was nationals?
The regional was great, lots of very good players and super fun. It's only a
shame that with the power level of the most talked about set (Nisekoi) only
about 10% of the people playing it, played it well. No problems with the venue
at all, location was also great. Judges were fair and reasonable, no issues with
the staff whatsoever. All in all awesome!
Did you attend alone or with a group?
I attended with a group of people from Canada, some were from Toronto, others
from surrounding cities, 8 people in total. In fact the guys from my locals made
top 8 with me, though one of them was received a Game Loss during deck check. We were
all sad to see him go.
For those who want to try playing your deck - any tips?
Pro tip number one - back row is almost always more important that front row
(Noshiro is too darn good).
Pro tip number two - play cards and turn them sideways.
Did you get anything cool at the event?
Oh yea! Two Pack Fight was the highlight of the whole weekend. I've always
wanted to make a Phantom deck, but it was always out of my reach and all my
friends who have been playing the game for a while said that i need point promos
to make it, so never bothered. For two pack Fight i decided to gamble and got 2
Phantom packs, my friend goes 1st, clocks a climax and passes turn, i also draw
a climax, go to clock it and then stop, its a signed. So you know i took it as a
sign and now trying to get a deck together.
What matchup was the scariest?
The most scary match-up was definitely Dacapo, Little Busters and anything that
plays 2 soul, with the level 3 walls at level 2, anti everything and the Money
Counter. My deck was built to counter Nisekoi, so i wasn't afraid of that
match-up. I also believe my KanColle list to be the superior to the others, so i
wasn't afraid of the mirror, but the other top decks could do things i couldn't
and 2 soul just kills me sometimes.
Any shoutouts?
Shoutouts to the whole K-OS and 401 Games crew, for being very good at the game
and teaching me how to not be awful at it. Special thanks to Mark M. for lending
me my 3rd Hatsukaze (otherwise I wouldnt be able to participate) and Peter W
for saving my sanity and lending me his Eli mat for the duration of the
Nationals after i got sharked for using a custom mat round one. As well as
friends from my locals Sajeev M. and Neslon Y. for also making the top 8.

Love Live!
How was nationals?
The Regional was fun.
Did you attend alone or with a group?
I attended with my friends that I playtest and hang out with.
For those who want to try playing your deck - any tips?
Wall up at level 1 and fill your hand and compress with your super good
brainstorm and at 3 tool box a level 3 to win the game.
Did you get anything cool at the event?
A tasty pumpkin bagel and a certificate to go next my other one on the wall.
What matchup was the scariest?
Playing Scotty the 5th round, because Marika is the best finisher in the game
right now.
Any shoutouts?
So shout outs to Raf, Mark, and Everett. Also shout to
Hammergirl for holding such a good event and being the best local around. Also
shout out to the Dark Lord Krondor.
