Invites for WGP are earned from top spots at BCF, Regionals, and the Last Chance Qualifiers
NOTE 1: a Restriction List is in effect for the BCF 2025 Event. Check back for dated updates.
NOTE 2: English Edition cards are not allowed in the BCF/WGP. This also includes all English Exclusive releases.
Introduction
For the upcoming WGP Season, there are three early invitation events you can attend!
The BCF is a Swiss tourney, run like a WGP Regional (and perhaps with a top cut), which gives exclusive PRs and WGP invitations to this year's National!
Now, we have to gather a bit of info from the locations regarding entry fee and prizing, and maximum seating available, but you can use our system to register your interest for the event and "get in line".
So, while we get this together over the next couple days, sign up for your local BCF here!
Rules
Standard WGP Regional Rules, Swiss to 1 or less undefeated (max 6 rounds min 3 rounds). Optional single elim Top 4 top cut - tournament organizer may choose if there is a Top Cut based on event size and timing, choice must be made before event: if not reported beforehand to players, no top cut is used. (Physical translations slips are NOT needed: this is a test run to see if that is possible going forward). Staff must have access to HotC translations and general translation applications to resolve issues. Top 2 receive invitations to this years WGP Nationals!
Tournament entry is not limited to those without invites. All players may enter. Should a player with an invitation rank highly enough to be in the top two, they are skipped over for the invitation and it "passes down" to the next player without an invitation.
Nova TCG (TX): July 12th 4:00 PM, 54 players capacity, entry fee TBD
GoBack Gaming (CA): July 19th 12:00 PM, 40 players capacity, entry fee $20 (2 packs on entry, 10$ to prize pool, Top 3 prize pool)
Hammergirl Anime (NY): July 27th 1:00 PM, 100 players (more space available if preregistration surpasses 100), entry fee $10 (2 packs on entry)
Legal Titles WS
- All Japanese Titles are allowed, other than Macross F, Girl Friend Beta, School Girl Strikers, Godzilla, Star Wars, Jojo's, Lost Decade, Marvel, Disney/Pixar, and Captain Tsubasa.
