To Love-Ru Darkness 2nd
How was the regional?
Considering how this was my first Japanese format regional I felt very satisfied and enjoyed the event as much as I possibly could. Each of the players that attended were very fun to be around and very passionate about their decks and choices. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience.
How do you win with your deck?
I ran the yellow/green To Love-Ru deck to this regional. That being said, it a very simple and standard build with a very standard and simple strategy. That strategy involving trying to prioritize the Lv1 climax combo and set up for your Lv3 climax combo for the ifnisher. After that point, the game is 9/10 times locked if you use your resources right.
Any shoutouts?
I want to give a shoutout to all of my good friends at Top Cut Comics! This is along with all of the amazing players at this regional alone who most came out from such a long way.

How was the regional?
It was fantastic. This was my first ever competitive event and I'm glad I played soundly. I was incredibly surprised by the shenanigans in the Love Toru deck. A lv3 on lv1 with hexproof? I could feel my draw drop.
How do you win with your deck?
I build stock in the early game to fuel the lv3 event. Other than that, I just turn cards sideways and try to swing for big.
Any shoutouts?
A ton of thanks to Melanie for helping me playtest, lending me cards, and letting me use her Mami build. Thanks to John, the owner of The Card Academy, for lending me the rest of my cards so I could play today. I'm amazed that I made nationals on my first try and can't wait to go to New York.
How was the regional?
The regional went very well and was smoothly ran. I was so excited to see so many new and returning talented WeiB players for the event. It was an honor to get to meet and play against everyone.
How do you win with your deck?
My deck uses Level 0 tech, power, search, and runner abilities to hopefully allow me to go to Level 1 first. The deck then features a very power focused Level 1 game around the 1/1 "Silent Night" Umi who has a climax combo on reverse to salvage. Early or late game, the 1/1 Eli, Student Council President shuts off events and gives a nice power boost to hopefully allow damage to go through especially at the end game.
Any shoutouts?
Thank you to my boyfriend, Joe, for his continued support with my card shuffling and deck building habits. Thank you so much for the continued support of the Illiana community led by Audri Sampson and the talented players at for The Card Academy in Columbus, Ohio for all of the long hours of play testing help. You are all wonderful!
