Regional Title Restrictions
Due to licensing issues, restrictions have been placed on the North American Regionals / Nationals by Bushiroad.
The following sets are not allowed to be used in North American Regionals and/or Nationals:
Macross F (マクロスF) - cards with "MF/"
Girl Friend Beta (ガールフレンド(仮)) - cards with "GF/"
School Girl Strikers (スクールガールストライカーズ) - cards with "SGS/"
Star Wars - cards with "SW/Dsw/"
Godzilla - cards with "GZL/"
Lost Decade - cards with "LOD/"

Definitions

1. Side
Side is divided to Weiβ-Side (white) and Schwarz-Side (Black). All cards are by default classified under one side.
1.1 Weiβ-Side
Cards that have a white background in their Side indicator. Normally, their collection IDs are indicated by "**/W~".
1.2 Schwarz-Side
Cards that have a black background in their Side indicator. Normally, their collection IDs are indicated by "**/S~".

2. Set
Set is defined by the ** portion in the collection ID "**/~". This Set ID is a combination of alphanumerical characters. All cards are, by default, classified under one set.

3. Special Card Backs
3.1 Gigant
For cards with the set ID "GST", there exists cards with white borders on the backside of the cards. These white-bordered-cardback cards have different thickness than the cards with the standard cardback, and they may not be used together in the same deck. It is legal to build a deck with only cards with the white-bordered-cardbacks.
3.2 Star Wars
For cards with the set ID "SW", because all cards in the set have a set-specific cardback, they may only be used with cards with other set IDs if sleeves with non-transparent backs are used. It is legal to build a deck with only cards with the set-specific cardback.
3.2 Marvel
For cards with the set ID "MAR", because all cards in the set have a set-specific cardback, they may only be used with cards with other set IDs if sleeves with non-transparent backs are used. It is legal to build a deck with only cards with the set-specific cardback.

4. Title
Title is classified according to the Set IDs. It is possible for multiple Sets to be classified under one Title.
4.1 Classification of Sets into Titles are detailed as follows:

4.2 Exception Cards for Neo-Standard Construction
Exceptions are made for the following cards under the "Neo-Standard" construction such that they are allowed to be used in multiple titles.

4.3 Exception Cards for Title-Specific Construction
Not used in official NA WGP events. See JP website for details.

Deck Construction Rules

1. Standard
Standard is a construction rule that allows, by default, all card that are on sale, as well as all promotional cards that have been distributed.
1.1 Certain cards may be designated in a section titled "Rules Regarding Limitations on Card Usage" later in this document that restrict the number of copies of those cards that can be used in a Standard deck.

2. Side-Limited
Side-Limited is a construction rule that only allows either Weiβ-Side cards or Schwarz-Side cards to be used.
2.1 Side-Limited Construction is separated into three classifications:
2.1.1 Side-Choice Construction
A construction rule that allows each player to make his or her own choice of Weiβ-Side or Schwarz-Side and constructs a deck using only cards from the chosen side.
2.1.2 Weiβ-Side-Only Construction
A construction rule that only allows cards from Weiβ-Side to be used.
2.1.3 Schwarz-Side-Only Construction
A construction rule that only allows cards from Schwarz-Side to be used.
2.2 Certain cards may be designated in a section titled "Rules Regarding Limitations on Card Usage" later in this document that restrict the number of copies of those cards that can be used in a Side-Limited deck.
2.3 The exception applied to "Exception Cards" does not function under Side-Limited rule.

3. Neo-Standard
Neo-Standard is a construction rule that allows each player to select one Title and construct a deck using only cards from the chosen Title.
3.1 Certain cards may be designated in a section titled "Rules Regarding Limitations on Card Usage" later in this document that restrict the number of copies of those cards that can be used in a Neo-Standard deck.
3.2 Cards designated as "Exception Cards for Neo-Standard Construction" are allowed in decks for multiple titles.

4. Title-Specific
Title-Specific is a construction rule that only allows cards from a pre-determined Title to be used in deck construction.
4.1 Certain cards may be designated in a section titled "Rules Regarding Limitations on Card Usage" later in this document that restrict the number of copies of those cards that can be used in a Title-Specific deck.
4.2 Cards designated as "Exception Cards for Title-Specific Construction" are allowed in decks for multiple titles. The "Exception Cards for Neo-Standard Construction" exceptions do not apply.

5. Other Information
5.1 Cards that have multiple Set IDs as well as cards designated as Exception Cards are allowed in different decks regardless of Title chosen.
5.2 Cards have the same name but different Set IDs cannot be used in each other's place.
Example: SK/WE05-27 (小川で遊ぼう！) has the same name as DC/W01-E18 (小川で遊ぼう！), but cannot be used in a Da Capo / Dal Segno-only deck.

There are cards with the same name while having different abilities. Unless otherwise specified, only 4 cards with the same name may be used in the same deck.

5.3 Construction rules that differ from section 1~4 may be required. In that case, please follow the instructed construction rule.
5.4 Prototype promotional cards may not be used under any construction rule.

Rules Regarding Limitations on Card Usage

Weiβ Schwarz may from time to time apply limitation on certain cards in order to promote a healthy competitive environment.
This "Rules Regarding Limitations on Card Usage" affects all Organized and Official Tournaments. Cards affected may be updated from time to time due to change in the construction environment.

Restriction Specifics:
"Banned": This card cannot be used in any Deck.

"2 Choose 1 / 3 Choose 1 / 4 Choose 1": Can only choose 1 card name from these groupings for any one deck, cannot play any of the others listed (may play 4 copies of chosen card as usual, unless otherwise specified)
